Clifford Edward Holtz, 84, of Brainerd, passed away June 25, 2010, at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby, Minn. Clifford was born on February 11, 1926, to Maynard and Josephine Holtz in Browns Valley, MN. Clifford married Doris Peterson, Brainerd, on November 29, 1952, at South Long Lake Presbyterian Church. Shortly thereafter, he was drafted into the Army and spent time in Korea. After his discharge, he returned to farming in western Minnesota. In 1961, Clifford and Doris moved to their current farm south of Brainerd. Together they raised nine children. Clifford enjoyed his job as a boilermaker and had a life-long love of farming. He especially loved cutting firewood.

Clifford is survived by his loving wife, Doris, of 57 years, chldren David (Carmel) Holtz, Brad (Pam) Holtz, Debra (Lonny) Swaser, Rhonda (Terry) Pickar, Craig (Fay) Holtz, Julie (Tony) Truschel, Tim (Tammie) Holtz, Karen (Steve) Lively, Kevin (Chris) Holtz, 28 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Everett (Lucille) Holtz, Jerome Holtz, and sister Ethelyn Jaspers. Clifford is preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Dorothy Holtz and brother-in-law Edwin Jaspers.

A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 29. A public reception will follow at 3:30 at South Long Lake Presbyterian Church, Brainerd. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Williams Syndrome Association in honor of Clifford's grandson, Zachary.
