Winnifred “Winnie” Larson passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 28, 2010 in Brainerd, Minnesota. Preceeded in death by husband, Richard; parents Carl and Mary Anderson and Brother Eugene Anderson. Winnie graduated from St. Luke’s Nursing School in Fargo, North Dakota in 1946 when she began her professional career as a Registered nurse until she retired from St. Joseph’s Medical Center in 1990.

In 1947 she married Richard “Dick” Larson from Northwood, North Dakota. Winnie and Dick had five children: David (Marianne), Brainerd; Paul (Jane Kennedy), North St. Paul; Mary Kisskeys (Bill), Lino Lakes; Carol Klabo (Gordon), Brainerd; and Barb Ondris, Pillager. She was the proud Grandmother of ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Thorson, Manhatten, Kansas.

Winnie will be remembered as a kind and generous person who was devoted to her faith, her children and grand-children. She had many friends and will be greatly missed by all.

Winnie enjoyed may volunteer activities, some which included The Brainerd Soup Kitchen, hospice volunteer, many organizations within her church, First Lutheran, Bethany Good Samaritan Society and Planned Parenthood.

A memorial service celebrating Winnie’s life will be held in the Edgewood Vista Chapel on Beaver Dam Road, Brainerd, Minnesota at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 1, 2010 with Pastor Nate Lundgren officiating. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorials should be sent to the Team Edgewood Alzheimer’s Association in care of Edgewood Vista, 14890 Beaver Dam Road, Brainerd, Minnesota 56401.

Arrangements are with Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Brainerd.
